This is all the work of the mind. The mind is just thoughts, and the thoughts of the mind can only happen in time — that is the Past or the Future.
If you redirect your attention to the Timeless Present Moment and rest your attention in your heart-center, there is a feeling of peace. There is awareness of all that is happening, and the next, right action arises spontaneously — without the need for thought.
Present moment awareness is the essence of Mindfulness Meditation. By continually returning our awareness to the timeless present, we experience peace and begin to recognize that our true nature is awareness.
